Brazilian Suite No.1 - Fernando Morais - for two unaccompanied euphoniums
A very challenging and fun duet, in 3 movements, for two euphoniums, recently published by Euphonium.com. The second part has some multiphonics.
The composer Fernando Morais, was born in São Paulo, Brazil. After receiving a scholarship he studied composition in Connecticut, USA. He graduated as a horn player and in the year 2000 went to Brasilia to be the tuba player at the National Theatre and a teacher at the school of music in Brasilia. In the same year, he formed chamber groups and started to compose for them. In April 2003 he won 2nd prize at an instrumental composition contest in Brasilia, the first of many prizes that he won in the following years. His compositions are played in Brazil and abroad.
