A Final Fling - Philip Sparke - Euphonium and Brass Band |

|
New to the EuphoniumStore.
The composer, Philip Sparke writes: A Final Fling was written at the request of David Childs for a CD recording with a Celtic theme, which he released in 2007. Most of the repertoire had already been settled, but David needed something short and fiery to contrast with the slower numbers on the CD and which he could also use as an encore piece. 'Final Fling' means a last quick effort at doing something and seemed an ideal title for an encore, also a fling is a type of Scottish Highland dance, which tied in with the Celtic theme, even though the piece is more Irish in character. A lighthearted piece, a final fling starts in the mood of a folk dance quotes from the Irish washerwoman before flying to a close.
A short but triumphant piece of virtuoso lighting short to trance and amaze your audiences. This work is only available with Brass Band a compliment so please understand this is a Brass Band set, not piano accompaniment!
