Composer Bert Appermon writes: As the title suggests, this work is comprised of a melodic lyrical hymn, followed by a spritely dance, a lovely contrast. From a teaching point of view, what makes the composition interesting is the variety of articulations and playing techniques that can be practised. With regard to the target group, the level of difficulty has been kept low-the melody also contains few big leaps and no difficult rhythms.
