In terms of musical complexity this album breaks new ground for international euphonium soloist Steven Mead, as it brings together some of the most challenging euphonium literature ever composed.
Of course as a traveling soloist he is used to audacious challenges, and has never shied away from anything, putting himself in the spotlight for the last 25 years in some of the most important concert venues in the world, with many of the worlds leading wind and brass ensembles.
Teaming up with the brilliant Japanese pianist Tomoko Sawano this disc presents some seriously 'dangerous' music with challenges for the artists almost unheard of until quite recently. Both concerti and the majority of the works on the second disc are world premiere recordings.
