This gives the ultimate protection to your prized euphonum, whether it be in the band room, in a car or on an aeroplane. It will be the only euphonium case you’ll ever need, and will last your whole life.
Specifications Length: 75.5 cms (29.72 inches) Bell end: 32.5/41 (12.8/16.14 inches) Small end. 18.5/41 (7.28/16.14 inches) Weight: 4.9kgs. (10.8 pounds) Made from aircraft-grade birch ply from sustainable forests in Finland. The rubber inserts inside the case are nitrogen expanded foam. This case offers the absolute best protection. It has a crush resistant shell and shock absorbing interior. Every case should ideally have two main components, one is a crush resistant shell and equally important is a shock absorbing interior. The Wiseman case provides both and actually isolates the bell of the instrument completely. It touches nothing. It just hangs in space! The case can stand in three positions, the bell end, the other end, and in a normal horizontal position (due to shock absorbing removable/replaceable feet) Wheels are offered as an option, so long as this option is chosen when ordering, see sample photo of the wheels. The positioning of the internal rubber inserts allows for a perfect fitting for your instrument, and is suitable for triggers with either the small or full size belly guard. There is also a special protective piece for those who use the travel mute inside the bell. There are two internal pockets as well as a mouthpiece holder. The instrument also comes with a music case which wraps around the outside of the case. The instrument can be carried comfortably on the back, using the backpack straps. All fittings are made of the absolute highest quality, and the case is protected by a lifetime warranty. Personalisation of the case is possible, autograph etc and can be discussed when ordering. Initially the case will be available in three finishes, blue, mahogany, and walnut. The Euphoniumstore in the UK, Europe, USA etc and the Euphoniumstore Taiwan (for Taiwan and other Asian countries) will be supplying all orders. Pricing and ordering information are available on the reservation sheet, that can be obtained by emailing euphstore@gmail.com I hope very much do you like this and you’re interested! I'll be using it from now!

Tech-Oil - Premium Valve Lubricant - new style bottle |
||
|
The euphoniumstore has just acquired the first ever UK supply of Tech-Oil, highly regarded as the best brass instrument lubricant that you can buy.
Perform your best when your instrument has the finest lubricants on the market.
Steven Mead now uses this oil and recommends it.
Avoid bad notes because your valve is stuck. Use Tech-Oil for a worry-free performance.
Apply just two spots of oil to a clean valve (make sure you remove all traces of old oil from your valve and valve casing for optimum performance). Just one spot at each end of the valve, no more, then you don't need to reapply for weeks! Seems unbelievable, but it's true.
Here's some more info from the company:Developed for musicians by a musician (who happens to be an engineer)
Result: a product tailored to your true needs instead of being designed for frequent sales.
Lubricity
Tech-Oil forms a barrier between the piston and the valve casing. This cohesive barrier resists sideways forces that otherwise cause metal contact and “sticking". Customers have noticed that Tech-Oil often solves sticky valve problems and saves expensive trips to the repair shop.
Balanced Viscosity
Valve oils that are too thin are weak in lubricity tests, while oils that are too thick are sluggish. Tech-Oil is smooth and fast.
Stability
The components of Tech-Oil are stable against atmospheric interference which cause "gumming" in many valve oils…which is valve oil geek talk for, when you use normal valve oil and wipe your valves during cleaning, a dark residue is usually on your rag. This residue is caused by this adverse interference. With Tech-Oil your valves stay clean.
Volatility
This measures the tendency of liquids to evaporate. Many valve oils dry out too fast, requiring frequent application. Tech-Oil stays in the valves by having a low rate of evaporation. This low evaporation rate combined with the stability of the oil allows Tech-Oil to stay on your horn even during use in hot and cold weather extremes.
Low Water Passover Ratio
Tech-Oil repels water to keep breath moisture and contaminants out of the valve walls and lower caps while other oils allow water to exchange place with the oil resulting in all sorts of bad things happening to your playing and horn. Avoid this by using Tech-Oil.
How to Use
-
Wipe your piston or rotor & clean the casings
-
Apply only 2 drops of Tech-Oil
-
Perform with confidence
-
Re-oil about a month later
Buy Tech-Oil now and perform with the confidence you deserve. Now with new EU-approved child proof top.

Stretchable Bell Cover - Tenor Horn/Tenor Trombone - Made by Denis Wick Products Ltd |
||
|
Here is the brand-new Tenor Horn/Tenor Trombone bell cover recommended for all those concerned about staying protected during the COVID-19 pandemic and as bands start to begin rehearsing again, perhaps you should think about one of these! Washable/multi-use.
Tenor Horn/Tenor Trombone 8.5"
Denis Wick has teamed up with a leading Northern textile company to produce new stretchable bell covers that reduce the risk of spreading harmful airborne droplets and aerosols produced by brass instruments. The covers are very easy to fit and make no perceptible difference to the sound of the instrument. The player might notice a very slight difference in response in the high register, but the sound remains true from low to high.
This product will be popular amongst school ensembles, amateur bands and professional brass sections alike. The safest way to play brass music is outside with the recommended distance between players of 2m – 3.5m. If playing indoors with the minimum distance (2m) between players bell covers can reduce the spread of germs and viruses greatly. Remember that venting water keys can spread germs too, so be careful to have a cloth or some paper to catch any water from the instrument, and to dispose of any paper safely.
Ideal for school ensembles and band rehearsals
Our partners making the bell covers are a traditional family-owned Manchester-based business who started spinning and weaving cotton in the nineteenth century. They are a company that we have enjoyed working with for many years, and in recent months they have been busy making PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the NHS. We have designed this range of bell covers which are produced in Greater Manchester using their skills developed in making PPE. Denis Wick bell covers are the only British-made bell covers in the market. We are proud to work with another successful British firm.

Ultrabreathe - White
There is only one breathe training device that Steven Mead uses every day, and it is the ULTRABREATHE. This small item will become an essential part of your musical equipment. Use it twice a day and the muscles around the lungs become stronger and more flexible.
Steve Mead says, "I've been using the Ultrabreathe for over 10 years now and have noticed a large improvement in the quantity and quality of air I'm able to use. I was a little scepticle of breathing devices in the past and did buy a few which now collect dust on a shelf somewhere, but the ultrabreathe is quite superb. I think it was developed initially for the medical professional to help people with air 'disorders', asthma etc and has been used by young and old alike and in more recent times by athletes in training and in the last couple of years , by brass and wind musicians. To date I have never met anyone who used it and did not feel an almost immediate benefit from it."
Steve on his routine: "I use it early morning for about 3 minutes, then a minute or so before I play, and sometimes in the interval in the middle of a concert. It keeps my air supply in the highest condition...it actually reduces stress levels and makes you feel better. Sometimes while driving too, although having the ultrabreathe in the mouth can cause a few glances when you have to stop the car...oh well!! It is a resistance inhaler with varying levels of resistance so you can start gently and build up. I try to inhale my full lung capacity in about 3 seconds then exhale , depending the exhalation setting in about 2 seconds. If the exhalation setting is set at maximum resistance you can try to exhale for up to 6 or 8 seconds. Repeat the process about 20 times and thats it, you're done, ready to play...until you feel you need it again. Use it every day and you'll notice a positive improvement with your playing within a week. Don't just take my word for it...try it."

GREY Ultrabreathe

U-Trainer, new model - from November 2017 |
||
|
We are delighted to present this new EMBOUCHURE STRENGTHENER FOR BRASS PLAYERS.
This is a new version of the popular U-Trainer, now available from November 2017.
New in the set is the U-Trainer®-Point, for centralizing the embouchure and providing more control.
We also offer a new nylon case and information sheet.
Watch the Youtube info movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhHo-b9P0bc
Steve writes: "I have tested this brand-new device for some weeks now and can vouch that it absolutely works! I thought my lips were already quite strong, but using this device each day is something that I intend to do from this point on. Although you can feel immediate benefit, sustained use for both brass and wind players is sure to really increase the strength of your muscles at the side of your mouth giving you much greater control. It's an absolutely brilliant new practice aid and in my opinion surpasses all other embouchure trainers on the market".
From the manufacturers:
"The embouchure efficiency of a brass player is reflected in tonal range and stability during longer playing sessions, and is dependent on the condition of lips and mouth-ring muscles.
Similar to a string instrument or timpani, where strings or skin the vibrating
elements are, by brass instruments it is the lips. High demands are placed on the muscles,
which in return require consequent training.
We recommend regular training with our patented embouchure trainer for brass players.
Through regular training with the u-trainer, you train and build up the embouchure
muscles you need for excellent playing. You can also prevent damage to an overexerted
embouchure will the ball is ifand prevent injuries due to overplaying.
Result: Daily training strengthens your mouth-ring muscles and
improves your performance.
The u-trainer is washable and can be regreased with slide grease.
The u-trainer is non-irritable for the skin.
Suggested training programme: TRAINING PROGRAM
You can train with the u-trainer either statically (holding the u trainer in position) or dynamically
(repeated movements). Before you start your training, try first the following exercise:
Articulate the vowel U. The mouth corners move forward and come almost together.
The lips are slightly pointed. Hold this position for several seconds, then relax the
lips and return to your initial position.
Repeat this short exercise and feel how the muscles work.
Now place the winged ends of the u-trainer in the mouth corners and repeat the
initial exercise forming U and slowly pressing the winged ends together.
After reaching the most intensive U-Position, return to your initial position.
A daily training is fundamental for a positive development of your embouchure.
Training statically:
Hold the U-position for 60 sec., relax 10 sec., repeat 3 times
Training dynamically:
Exercise the U-position 30 times, relax 10 sec., repeat 5 times
You can alter the resistance/strength of the u-trainer by adjusting the position and number of rings that are supplied. see: http://www.euphonium.net/download.php?id=88

Virtuoso Brass Instrument Cleaning Kit

From an article of www.4barsrest.com
Recommendation from Steven Mead:
"Steven Mead recommends the B# Virtuoso Brass Instrument Cleaning Kit I suppose I’ve always been quite fastidious about keeping my instrument clean. There’s no question that an instrument that’s perfectly clean with everything well lubricated, performs better. And I’m interested in that! Over the years I’ve had students play for me, and with many of them, immediately I’ve detected that their instrument hasn’t been well maintained, or perhaps hasn’t had an internal clean for some considerable time. When someone says they put some water through it, or even that they’ve bathed it, they presume this will remove all the build-up of grime that can have such a detrimental impact on playing, in particular tuning. It always amazes me that people spend so much money on their instruments, and then look after them so badly. It’s like having a car that you never get serviced, and of course you shouldn’t be too surprised when it lets you down. I been using this Cleaning Kit myself for about five months now, and it’s been selling very well on my web store www.euphoniumstore.net. I know my customers are as satisfied as I am. The Instrument Soak solution really works, and it’s almost identical to having my instrument professionally cleaned by the manufacturers in Germany. The brushes are also well-designed and finish off the internal clean to perfection. Then to get a fully professional finish, the Avocado oil is really outstanding, as good as anything I’ve ever used. I can’t recommend this highly enough. Everyone should have one of these kits at home."
Mark Wilkinson (Principal Cornet of Foden’s Band), Dr. Brett Baker (international trombone soloist and Rath Clinician) and Foden’s Band are endorsing the new range of Bsharpbrass (b#) cleaning kit and natural oils.
Said a spokesman for b#: “Players have long cleaned their instruments with washing up liquid, many of which contain salt. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that water plus salt results in possible corrosion.”
The kit consists of an Instrument Soak that cleans the instrument from the inside out, removing the unpleasant biofilm from your instrument pipework, and clearing oils and greases, leaving your instrument with a pleasant citrus scent and an easy next-time clean, anti-static coating.
After the soak, you have a finishing Avocado Polish that gives your instrument that sort after Championship finish, and b# has teamed up Helin of Germany to include a quality purpose-made brush and cloth pack to make the Virtuoso Brass Instrument Cleaning Kit the only product of its kind.
To complete the range, b# has also introduced a range of 100% natural oils and greases, which are non-petroleum, non-synthetic lubricants made from natural oils, with added food grade fruit flavourings to enhance your playing experience.
The range was launched at the recent North West and Yorkshire Regional Championships, and Mark Wilkinson commented: “This is a must accessory for every brass musician and the only product to clean instruments of its kind that I recommend.”
Brett Baker also endorsed: “The b# Cleaning Kit maintains my trombone as new, I’ve used washing up liquid for years without knowing about the damage that it can do long-term.”

Denis Wick Valve Oil (1 bottle) |
||
|
• Fast, long-lasting oil with a very silky feel
• Microscopic particles of PTFE carry on lubricating long after other valve oils have evaporated
• PTFE - the most slippery substance on earth
• Formulation includes a special anti-evaporation agent
• Virtually odourless
• Special bottle with built-in UV filter to protect from sunlight
• No residue
• Especially useful for tuba and euphonium players, and for trombonists using Thayer and other large valves, as there is no need for constant re-application due to evaporation
• Excellent value
• Suitable for all piston and rotary valves
• Developed in collaboration with trumpet specialist Will Spencer
The chemical name of PTFE is Polytetrafluoroethylene, and it is the most slippery substance on earth. It is found in many everyday usages such as non-stick pans, Gore-Tex rainwear and in dental floss. Its unique properties transform ordinary valve oil into an extraordinary lubricant, the microscopic particles acting as minute ball-bearings.
Denis Wick is pleased to set a new standard in brass instrument lubrication with innovative new product. Developed in association with trumpet expert Will Spencer, Denis Wick Advanced Formula Valve Oil is already acclaimed as a favourite by many leading brass players. It gives modern valves a very silky feel, is exceptionally long-lasting and remains unaffected by extreme weather conditions, so no more problems of slow, sticky valves in hot weather due to evaporation.
Its lack of residue makes it a great favourite amongst horn-players, who don't want to be taking valves apart to clean out gunky residue.
Its ability to carry on lubricating between applications makes it the most useful oil for instruments where evaporation can be a problem, such as the tuba, euphonium, and instruments with Thayer valves.
The oil is light and fast, and works equally well in piston and rotary valves. Its special properties work in the smallest piccolo trumpets and the largest tubas.
