Here is another classic solo from way back when. Stanley Boddington MBE (1905-1986) was a famous brass band conductor, mainly remembered for his incredible work with the GUS (Footwear) Band, but he was also a prolific composer and arranger.

This theme and variations solo is part of our incredible heritage of variation solos that date back to the end of the 19th century.

It's also a great test for euphonium players, especially as it's written in C major (for Bb instruments), meaning it has some extra demands on stamina.
